The Mediators and Arbitrators
All mediators on the panel of The Centre are accredited by the Dispute Settlement Accreditation Council (DiSAC), in line with international standards. They are governed by the Equillore Code of Conduct and philosophy of early settlement of disputes. In addition to training in the skills of mediation and arbitration, they also have experience in specific fields of expertise. The mediators and arbitrators are not employed by The Centre but are independent practitioners who are contracted to act as a presiding officer for a particular dispute.
In letter and in spirit of the King III Report and Companies Act, as well as the changes made in the court processes and legislation, The Centre’s mediators and arbitrators are required to play a pro-active role in the process to curb unnecessary costs and to avoid time wastage. Their aim is to promote quick and fair settlement agreements and to ensure that parties who chose not to use lawyers are not disadvantaged.
