The Transport and Transport Infrastructure (TTI) Portfolio Committee will investigate, support and shape the development of an efficient transport system in the Western Cape that facilitates sustainable economic development of the Region and provides affordable and safe public transport for the region and promotes the interests of business. Transport includes road, rail, sea and air transport (for both freight and people), public and private transport, scholar transport, non-motorised transport as well as planning, legislation, safety and law enforcement as applied to all modes of transport.
Transport infrastructure includes roads, railways, ports, airports and pipelines as well as developing technologies such as traffic monitoring and integrated ticketing systems that impact on transport infrastructure.
