The Industrial Focus Portfolio Committee

The industrial focus portfolio committee will facilitate discussions, information sessions as well as focused groups on topics related closely to industry that may include:

• Relevant developments impacting on industry, i.e. electricity, gas & oil industry, wind farms;
• New bylaws and legislation relevant to industry;
• Manufacturing grants (as covered by the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science & Technology, South African Revenue Service) and productivity;
• Industrial policy of Government;
• Provide a podium/forum to facilitate discussions where grey areas exist between Province, local authorities and our “industrial” membership; and
• To act as a forum to discuss contemporary problems such as bulk services and waste management for industry.
